Since I started this project, a lot of people have written to me saying “Simon, we like CM 89/90, but we just don’t think it’s nerdy or obscure enough”. Well, to answer those people, I’ve written a guest post on Denis Hurley’s squad numbers blog, detailing my selection of squad numbers. Obviously in 1989 teams didn’t have squad numbers, so I’ve decided them for myself, which has been one of the most fun parts of working on this.
